Do you suffer from excessive sweating? Sweaty hands, underarms, feet, etc. and no matter what you try, the sweaty mess doesn’t go away. This condition, known as hyperhidrosis, is more common than you may think, affecting both women and men. Putting on more deodorant is NOT the answer.
Hyperhidrosis – An Overview
Hyperhidrosis is excessive sweating beyond what is physiologically needed to regulate your body temperature, often causing social, emotional, and work impairment. This condition can be primary or secondary. Primary hyperhidrosis includes excessive sweating of the armpits, palms, soles, face, and scalp. Secondary hyperhidrosis is typically caused by an underlying medical condition or medication use.
Hyperhidrosis affects nearly 1 in 20 people, yet less than one-half of those affected discuss this with their physician.
More than 90% of hyperhidrosis cases are primary, and more than half of these cases affect the armpit area. More than one-third of persons with axillary (armpit) hyperhidrosis report that the condition is barely tolerable or completely intolerable, and it nearly always interferes with daily activities. In other words, you are not alone!
HYPERHIDROSIS TREATMENT OPTIONS
Fractional RF Microneedling is an alternative way to decrease excessive sweating. We perform this procedure all the time for patients with excessive sweating, Hyperhidrosis, AND for patients with Axillary (armpits) Hidradenitis Suppurativa (excessive glandular growth and secretion).
Fractional RF Microneedling, (aka Fractional RF CIT/Radio Frequency Collagen Induction Therapy, or Fractional RF Dermaroller) for hyperhidrosis can be applied to pretty much any part of the body, but best results for arm-pits, hair line, palms of hands, soles.
Did you know Botox injections are another way to greatly reduce over-active sweating?
