BOTOX®

Botox® Cosmetic is a prescription medicine that is injected into facial muscles and used to improve the look of moderate to severe frown lines between the eyebrows, around the eyes and the forehead (upper face).

Dr. Jing Jing will first conduct a detailed evaluation of your present skin condition and your specific complaints. She will determine the proper amount of Botox® adequate to rejuvenate your forehead, “crow’s feet” (lateral eye wrinkles), “11s” (wrinkles between eye brows), and to brighten your eyes (under eye wrinkles).

Botox® is recommended for patients between the ages of 18 to 65 years of age and inhibits the movement of treated areas for a temporary period of time, usually 3-6 months depending on individual.

Botox® can be used to treat hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating of the under-arms, palms and soles of the feet.)

Botox® can also be used, in certain cases, to correct “smokers lines” around the mouth, a “gummy smile”, excessive sweating of the forehead or anterior hair line.

XEOMIN®

WHAT IS XEOMIN®?

Xeomin® (incobotulinumtoxinA) is a prescription medication injected into muscles and used to temporarily improve the appearance of moderate to severe frown lines between the eyebrows (glabellar lines) in adults. Xeomin® contains botulinum toxin type A, a protein purified from the bacterium Clostridium botulinum.

HOW DOES XEOMIN® WORK?

When you squint or frown, the muscles between your eyebrows contract, causing the skin to furrow and fold. Over time, as your skin ages and loses some of its elasticity, these repeated contractions can cause persistent frown lines. Botulinum toxin type A – the active ingredient in Xeomin®– acts on nerve endings in muscles to prevent muscle fibers from contracting. By reducing these contractions, Xeomin® can temporarily reduce the lines between your eyebrows.
