SCULPTRA®

Sculptra® (replenish lost collagen)

Sculptra® is an FDA-approved injectable that helps gradually replace lost collagen—the most common protein in the body that is used to form a framework to support cells and tissue—for results that can last up to two years.

WHY SCULPTRA®?

SCULPTRA ADDRESSES AN UNDERLYING CAUSE OF FACIAL AGING, NOT JUST THE SYMPTOMS.

Not All Anti-Aging Treatments Are the Same:

Collagen creams: Collagen creams do not fully penetrate to the dermis, so most topical treatments are effective as moisturizers that briefly improve the skin's appearance.

Collagen Supplements: When ingested, the digestive system breaks down collagen proteins and their effectiveness remains inconclusive.

Toxins: Toxins temporarily weaken muscles to minimize frown lines in the forehead. Results typically last a couple months.

Fillers: Works immediately upon injection to fill in lines, wrinkles and folds.

HOW DOES SCULPTRA® WORK?

Sculptra is made with biocompatible, biodegradable, synthetic material called poly-L-lactic acid, which is gradually and naturally absorbed by the body and helps to rebuild lost collagen through a series of treatments administered by a trained specialist. The specialist injects treatment into the appropriate dermal plane where strands of collagen support your skin's structure. Over time, Sculptra helps the body reproduce lost collagen. The number of injection appointments and the number of injections per appointment vary from person to person, depending on how much collagen has been lost. On average, three injection appointments are needed over a period of a few months.

  • How long do procedures usually take?
Generally, liposuction procedures take between 2-4 hours and fat transfer procedures take about the same time.
  • Will I feel anything during my cosmetic surgery procedure?
You will feel an initial stick from a lidocaine injection, but after that you will not feel much more during the procedure.
  • What is my recovery time?
With most of our procedures, there is little to no down time. While many of our cosmetic surgery options provide fast results, it’s possible that the body will experience light bruising or swelling. Recovery time depends on the individual procedure. During your consultation, ask about the typical recovery time for your cosmetic surgery procedure.
  • Am I a good candidate?
You will need to have a thorough one-on-one evaluation with one of our highly skilled medical providers to determine if you are a good candidate and chart out the best course of action to combat your facial or body complaint.
  • I have other medical conditions such as Hypertension, Diabetes, Hyperthyroidism….can I still be a candidate?
You will need to have a thorough one-on-one evaluation with one of our highly skilled medical providers to determine if you are a good candidate. Some patients with chronic medical conditions can be considered for invasive treatments but this would be determined on a case by case, individual basis.
  • Is this covered by my health insurance?
We do NOT take health insurance, as most health insurance companies do not cover cosmetic treatments. However, some procedures can be covered under Flexible Spending or Health Savings. In addition, medical financing options are available. Please discuss this with one of our administrative staff.
  • Will I be put to “sleep”?
No, patients are awake during their procedure, however pain and anxiety are controlled.
